Keith & Lisa Coggin are Global Outreach missionaries serving in Gulu, Uganda. The Coggins live on a roughly 12-acre compound in the Ocuka (pronounced O-choo-kuh) Village of the Acholi (pronounced Uh-Cho-Lee) people in Gulu.  Gulu is an area of the country that is still facing the aftermath of many years of civil war. Gulu was the location of much of the insurgent fighting by the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA).  Much of the population has been displaced from their homes, mostly into overcrowded camps clustered around towns and trading centers.  Thankfully, in the past 4 years there has been little to no trouble from the LRA in Gulu, and more families are returning to their homes.

While the Coggins reach out to the Acholi people in many different ways, their main ministry in Gulu is to the children.  They have started a school called "Sanctuary of Grace Christian Academy" and have seen great progress in the past few years.  In the summer of 2007, our secretary, Emily Francis, had the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Gulu and spend about 6 weeks with the Coggins.  The school for the children was in its first year at that time.  Now, the SOG Christian Academy has a new school building, able to accommodate classrooms for K5, P1 and P2 classes.

While on furlough in the United States in 2008 & 2010, the Coggins came to Adaton and shared with us about the work they are doing there in Gulu. If you would like to (and are not already) receiving the monthly email update from the Coggins, just contact our church office (323-3735).

How to pray:

For a copy of the latest email update from the Coggins in Uganda, scroll to the bottom of this page and click on the attachment.  Please pray for them during this time where Satan is attacking their mission from within their own ministry.

How to financially support:  5% of our Missions First Offering goes to the Coggins ministry in Gulu.  Another way to give would be to mail any donations to the Global Outreach office at the following address:
